Matthew 8:18-22

18 And Jesus seeing great multitudes about him, commanded to go to the other side. 19 And a certain scribe came and said to him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

20 And Jesus saith to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

21 And another of his disciples said to him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

22 But Jesus said to him, Follow me, and leave the deadto bury their dead.

Luke 9:57-62

57 And as they went in the way, one said to him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

58 But Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests: but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. 59 And he said to another, Follow me.

60 But he said, Lord, Suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their dead, but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but suffer me first to bid them farewell that are in my house.

62 Jesus said to him, No man having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
